We have wrapped up Homer. Woo Hoo!
We started our salmon fishing in the Fishing Hole, but it got absolutely crazy. I cannot believe how rude people get fishing. We would get out a few hours before high tide, and people would literally push us out of our spots as the tide came in.
After catching around 14 salmon (1 king and 13 silver), we moved over to the beach and began snagging. That was also very productive as we caught 4 more filling our chest freezer to the rim. All of them were bigger than the ones we caught on lures.
On the 19th we moved on to Seward. Our trip over would have been uneventful, but a Pepsi truck ran off the road. When we got to the scene, we were stopped for almost an hour while they tried to pull him out with two tow trucks. After that failed miserably, they finally let us pass. Their trucks dug huge holes in the road so they could only let one lane of traffic pass at a time. Amazing.
We decided to take one of the few nice days forecasted on Saturday to go out on one of the Kenai Fjord Tours. I hope to have a bunch of nice photos to post. However, the internet is really bad here at the campground.
