We made it to Whitehorse yesterday. Here at Hi Country RV, we will stay 4 days and decide what and where to go next.
The trip from Liard River to Watson lake was a little rough as there was two sections around 5KM each of road construction. They both tested our new rock prevention system on the Jeep. During our 2016 trip we caused around $4,000 of damage to the Jeep. This motorhome kicks up quite a bit of rock on gravel sections of road.
We purchased the Blue Ox Rock Guard and Chris took a piece of carpet and designed a windshield protection. Both seemed to work. When we stopped we found a bunch of gravel on the Jeep, but no damage.
At Watson Lake, we were glad to see our 2014 and 2016 signs we mounted at the Sign Forest. This trip we did not bring a 2018 one.
We moved up to Teslin, where we had planned on staying two nights. Unfortunately, Mallory's Urinary Track Infection she got down at the Grand Canyon came back. We took her to a Vet here in Whitehorse who prescribed a stronger antibiotic. I sure hope this takes care of it.
We will see how she does over the next couple of days. I am not sure I want to go up to Dawson while she is still sick. We may defer that until late summer on our return.
I was boasting that we saw six bear in one day. Well that did not last too long. We have only seen two more taking the total bear count to 10.
The wood sign on top and the Colorado License plate are ours. I notices the paint is beginning to where off on our License Plate.

I really love the drive from Fort Nelson to the Liard River. The mountains and Muncho Lake are absolutely beautiful. I would respectfully say that this is the most spectacular section of the entire Alaskan Highway.
Today during this awesome drive, we saw six bear, one moose, one caribou, one fox, and a bunch of bison. Someone commented on RV.Net that they thought the wildlife viewings were down from previous years. Well we are up to eight bear sightings. In 2016 we had only seen a couple of bear through this section.
We stopped again this year at the Liard Hotsprings Lodge. We got to the lodge right around noon, setup camp, and headed straight for the hot springs. Outside it was around 50*F so the hot springs were steamy. In 2016 we stopped on our way home and the temperature was around 85* (way too hot to spend much time in the hot springs). This year was just like 2014 (nice and cool) so we were able to soak for a long time.
My only disappointment was that the park service cut down the tree that crossed the river just around the corner from the two water falls. It was fun to hang off of it. The pieces are still floating around and can easily be recognized as they still show the carvings of past years.
It is very nice to see that the Lodge is fully operational and even has wifi. In past years were were lucky to have 110 power and/or water. We are only staying here tonight and will move on up to Watson Lake tomorrow.

Dawson Creek to Fort Nelson.
Today was pretty uneventful which I kinda like.
We saw a moose, three white tail deer and two bears. We were very worried about the bear sightings as we did not see the first one until around 411 Kilometers from Dawson Creek. The roads were pretty good with only a few spots rough enough to slow down.
Our plan is to stay here at Triple G for two nights then move up to Liard Hot springs.

The cooler weather finally arrived!! We have been hanging out in Dawson Creek today wrapping up a little provisioning, going out to the curved bridge at MP21(Historic Kiskatinaw River Bridge), and just chilling.
So with the extra time, I put a couple of pics together. From our time in Montana, trip up to Shelby, and a few from today.
Tomorrow we head to Ft. Nelson where we will again stay a couple of nights. We have been making reservations just a couple of days ahead of arrival, and already ran into issues at Liard Hotsprings as I said yesterday. At least we have one night there. We will leave early in the morning so we can spend the afternoon at the hot springs.

Well, we have been running pretty strong over the last several days. We left Cedar City, spent a night in Provo UT, then a night in Dillon, MT. When we left early morning from Dillon, we expected a long but easy run up to Shelby MT. We cruised through Butte and headed up I15. It was very foggy. After about 15 miles there was a small flashing sign that said highway closed use alternative route. We kept going until we were almost to Boulder when Chris got a hold of the town pump in Boulder. They told us the previous night a sink hole formed destroying both north bound lanes and one of the southbound lanes.
We turned around and headed back to Butte. We pulled into a flying j to find an alternative route. The guys recommended US12 to Helena. Oh boy that route was tough. 8% grades for six miles. After over a 100 mile detour we made it to Shelby.
From Shelby we had another long day to Edmonton. We spent two nights chilling (actually cooking because the temperatures are in the 80’s).
From Edmonton we had a fairly easy day to Dawson Creek. We will spend two days here then start heading north again. The last two times we were heading north in May it snowed in Dawson Creek. It is currently 85* and tons of mosquitoes.
We are still having trouble with reservations. Our plan was to spend two nights at Liard Hot Springs, but again a caravan is coming in so we could only get one night.
I will start posting some more pictures in the next day or so.

This will most likely be the last update until we get to Edmonton as we will be running every day until we get there. Provo UT, Dillon, MT, Shelby, MT and then a long run up to Edmonton.
We left the Grand Canyon May 15th. We had a leisurely easy run up to Boulder City, NV. The campground is way over priced (the highest we paid so far). The sites are short and not very level. They called themselves a resort, but there were dozens of old trailers along the perimeter that people lived full time. Oh well.
We had to drop the Jeep anyway, so we drove back to Hoover Dam stopped at the visitors center, and drove over the dam. Wow has it changed since the last time we were here. We almost got ourselves in big trouble because they now have a security check point. We got selected for inspection because we have a Thule case on the roof of the Jeep. Unfortunately, the keys were back at our coach. Oops!! I convinced them we only had fishing gear in it and they let us go.
After we toured around the dam, we drove downtown Las Vegas and cruised Las Vegas Blvd. Again, wow has it changed. I used to live right behind the old MGM Grand (now Balleys) back in the late 70's while I was stationed at Nellis AFB.
I really don't have much need to stay any longer in Vegas.
May 16th we again had a short and easy day up to Cedar City, UT. We booked at the KOA for two nights so that we could visit Zion and drive some of the scenic roads. Unfortunately, Kolob Canyon was closed so we had to go down to the main entrance. Holy Smokes was it crowed. It took nearly an hour just to get to park entrance once we got in line. Also they have closed the main canyon to only shuttle buses since the last time I was here, so we could not drive that. It was still a beautiful drive through the park and tunnel.
Once we got through Zion, we drove north to UT14 to drive the Dixie National Forest back to Cedar City. That was an awesome drive. We had lunch at the top where the temperatures were in the low 50's. There was still quite a bit of snow around.
