Denali

I have been told that only one third of the visitors to Denali National Park and Preserve actually see the Mountain (Mount McKinley as it used to be called). When we were here in 2014, the only time we saw it was from the highway from Tok up to Fairbanks.

I guess our luck continues as today was a beautiful day. We drove back up to the Mount Vista trailhead at around mile 12.5 on the Park Road. The views were spectacular to say the least.

After taking dozens of photos of the Mountain, we had lunch at the trailhead. After lunch the clouds started rolling in between us and the Mountain. But we definitely got the views.

We then split up from my brother Bob and Angel. We hiked the Horseshoe Lake Trail. There was a very large owl, two beaver dams, and we hiked down to the Nenana River.

All I can say is it was another great day.

A High Five after a great day.
