June 6th, 2016 Update

The last couple of days have been great here in Fairbanks, Alaska. We decided to go to the Gold Dredge 8 again with my brother and his wife Angel. It was still very rainy but we had a great time.

This time we learned that the pokes they give you are from the bottom of a sluice that they purchase from a local gold mining company. We thought they actually planted the gold for the panning portion of the tour.

I think I actually got more gold than what we paid for the tour of the dredge.

The tour is pretty cool.

After that we went to the Museum of Northern Alaska at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The Museum was OK, but not a highlight of the trip.

On the 6th ,Chris, Heather and I decided to go and drive up to the arctic circle. It was an incredible drive with awesome views of the Brooks Range and of course the Arctic Circle.

It was actually warmer up there than it was in Fairbanks. I guess we checked off another item from the bucket list.
